Presidents Message

The April meeting in Las Vegas was one for the record books. Comments by attending members were extremely positive as a result of excellent programs. We will return to the Green Valley Ranch, Henderson, NV for our 2008 annual conference. We have booked April 21 & 23, 2008 for the conference. We have blocked a section of rooms at a conference rate for the nights of April 20 - April 24. Don't wait until it is too late to reserve your room! Today we are being surrounded by competitive forces that challenge our respective businesses. Regulations, fuel prices, and ever changing distribution dynamics keep us on the offense or defense depending on our position in the marketplace. I believe for the Transloader to be competitive today, he must take advantage of the communications available.

Communication takes place in many forms. These types include the telephone and its derivatives- faxes, voice mail, and Smartphones. We also learn from publications. We will soon post a list of publications you may want to consider on our website where you found this letter. Then we have the internet and of course, how could I forget, "snail mail". Today we need to be sure to be up to date with the internet technologies because of the speed of information flow that all customers and suppliers demand. As a result of this technology we will do all future communication by internet. At next years convention we expect to present a program to help reveal to you the important factors that a transloader should have in place to be competitive today. We hope to see you there to enjoy this and other programs that will bring success to your operation.
